Meet the team:
Erik Daugherty
Erik Daugherty grew-up in Nashville and graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy. He gained a unique perspective on the world by earning his graduate degree in International Sustainable Development from the renowned Lund University/Sweden. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he concentrated on transportation, renewable energy, climate change and international trade issues. Most recently, he worked in Austria as a project leader for climate change research with a pan-European project. Erik was thrilled to return to his hometown of Nashville, where he can help small businesses and homeowners incorporate innovative, energy-efficient technologies and products into their lives. Erik lives in Joelton, TN, with his wife, four-year-old son, and infant daughter.
Jeff Middlebrooks
Jeff Middlebrooks is a certified HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater, an EarthCraft House™ technical advisor and a National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Home verifier. Previously, he owned and operated Nashville Home Energy Solutions, which merged with E3 Innovate in 2008. His experience as a financial analyst, combined with his expertise in energy modeling software, makes him a key asset to our team. Jeff lives in Sylvan Park with his wife and infant daughter.
Stefan Peter-Contesse
Stefan Peter-Contesse is a certified HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater and serves as project manager for E3 Innovate’s Home Performance services. He also performs comprehensive energy audits and coordinates our Energy Star Certification program. As Vice President of the Sustainability Coalition at a university, Stefan encouraged the school to employ sustainable practices on campus and within the community. He also worked as an assistant builder with Turnberry Homes, where he gained valuable experience within the industry. Stefan lives in Nashville and is currently studying home efficiency principles and systems.
Kajsa Daugherty
Kajsa Daugherty previously worked as a middle school teacher at a private school near Washington, D.C. and holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development. She is responsible for office management and accounting and is an integral part of our team. Kajsa lives in Joelton, TN with her husband, Erik, and son, Kaj-Christian and daughter, Maja Lena.
Ryan Blocher
Ryan is continuing to compile an in depth understanding of the built environment that we live in, work in, and socialize in. Understanding the built world we live in began while working for a mechanical systems contractor, who encouraged detailed work, high quality craftsmanship, and responsible stewardship of our environment. He used those fundamental skills at Purdue University and also at Ball State University where he earned his Master’s degree in Architecture with an emphasis in sustainable design and in historic preservation. Ryan is excited to help, to educate, and to learn with the community of Nashville as we continue to decrease our energy demands and improve the quality of our built environment. Ryan is currently living in Brentwood with his wife Kate and toddler son Hudson Nash.
John Stowell
John is a Home Performance Site Manager. He has recently graduated from Lipscomb University with a Masters in Sustainability with an emphasis in Clean Energy. John spent two+ years in the Peace Corp, stationed mainly in Konobougou, Mali, West Africa where he worked as a Small Enterprise Development Advisor. In his spare time, John enjoys quiet and time reading and in contrast looks forward to the excitement of travel and new experiences.
Stacy Dawn Battles
Stacy is our Office Administrator. She is responsible for office management, accounting, and social media marketing. Stacy graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations. She enjoys reading, internet research, hiking on the Nashville Greenways and attending songwriter and other music events.
