Why Choose E3 INNOVATE?
Our experts at E3 INNOVATE don’t put band aids on problems. We find the source of them. We’re BPI-certified building science analysts who look at your home as one big picture. We understand the root causes of energy-efficiency and home-comfort issues and devise solutions that address them permanently.
By hiring our trusted home performance consultants, you can save yourself the headaches, wasted money, and disappointment that come from hiring a contractor who doesn’t take the time to understand the underlying causes.
We offer two levels of energy assessments based on your goals:
✅ Healthy Home Consultation
A targeted evaluation focused on indoor air quality, moisture issues, and general energy efficiency. Ideal for homeowners experiencing discomfort or health-related concerns.
✅ Comprehensive Diagnostic Home Assessment
A full-home performance test that includes blower door testing, thermal imaging, HVAC system analysis, and a detailed energy report with prioritized recommendations.
Home Diagnostic Assessments: Our Step By Step Process
Depending on the house, an assessment takes somewhere between 2 to 5 hours, depending on the size of the home. We always start by listening to your concerns and taking note of the issues to address during the evaluation and testing of your building. Then, using a series of diagnostic tests, we assess the whole building to get a complete understanding of how your home or office currently performs and what may be causing your issues.
After the evaluation, you receive a customized report that summarizes our findings as well as a custom set of recommendations that fit your needs and your budget. If you choose, our own dedicated E3 EcoWorks Team can carry out the recommended improvements using premium green products. Your E3 INNOVATE Consultant will then conduct a final round of diagnostic testing to confirm that our services made a measurable difference.
A Comprehensive Diagnostic Home Assessment costs $1,595, and includes the following:
- Blower Door Testing: Blower door tests measure the severity of air leaks in your home that contribute to drafts, discomfort, and energy loss.
- Duct Leakage Test: This test pressurizes your ductwork, allowing our experts to identify any leaks that may be present. This information can be used to seal the ducts and reduce energy loss from heated or cooled air that escapes them.
- HVAC Equipment Inventory: We do a thorough assessment of your building’s existing HVAC equipment. We make notes on any equipment that is outdated and what modern, energy-efficient alternatives could be used as a replacement.
- Duct Static Pressure Test: This diagnostic test is used to measure the pressure of airflow throughout your ducts. It can be used to identify issues like clogged filters, restricted coils, excessive leaks, and undersized ductwork.
- Attic Inspection: We look for a variety of problems in your attic. These could include moisture building and mold, air leaks, and poor insulation.
- Crawlspace or Basement Inspection: Basements are the primary entry point for moisture. We identify any locations that could be allowing air or humidity to enter, which negatively affects the air quality and health of the home.
- Bathroom and Kitchen Exhaust Testing: We make sure that your exhaust fans are working correctly and efficiently. Energy-efficient alternatives can greatly reduce energy consumption.
- Zonal Pressure Testing: Zonal pressure testing is similar to a blower door test. It’s used to isolate a “zone” of the home and test for airflow and air leaks in that specific location. It’s common for crawlspaces, attics, and attached garages.
- Thermal Imaging: Our analysts use thermal imaging guns and cameras to map heat patterns in your home. It can be used to identify places that have poor insulation or air gaps.
- 10-Day Radon Kits: We provide you with two 10-day kits so that you can test radon exposure in your home. Data is collected by the device and sent to a laboratory for processing and results.
Optional Add-Ons
- Digital 10-Day Radon Monitoring (+$450)
- HVAC and Coil Inspection (+$250/system)

“For the record, my electric bills have shown approximately a 20% reduction in usage per month since the crawlspace was enclosed. The hardwood floors in the main level are so comfortable to walk on even without socks in this cold winter weather. At the current price of propane, I estimate we will save around $450 in fuel this year. Not only are we using less energy, we are living and breathing in a lot cleaner and healthier environment. Thanks for a great job E3! I highly recommend your company.”
